In PNG, Cardno manages donor-funded international development programs across the country, including in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. Leveraging our established in-country presence and strong local networks, we deliver innovative, sustainable development solutions for our donor clients.

What we’re looking for

Cardno is seeking expressions of interest to join our PNG team on existing programs and for upcoming opportunities. We are looking for people who can perform a range of roles including full-time, longer-term roles with program teams and part-time, shorter-term advisory roles. We are keen to hear from people who possess experience and expertise in any of the areas of specialisation covered below.

Areas of Specialisation

  • Infrastructure and construction management including project managers, project coordinators, design managers, project engineers, HSE specialists, procurement specialists, and / or quantity surveyors.
  • Health sector masterplanning and design specialists including persons with experience in health infrastructure planning and health services planning.
  • Energy sector including expertise in managing and delivering electrification projects; energy sector policy and regulation (including off-grid electrification regulation); and / or experience working with energy sector regulators / utilities to strengthen their planning, operational and financial performance.
  • Grant management including project managers and project coordinators who have the ability to work closely with communities and stakeholders across a number of sectors.
  • Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) including policy experience; project design and management experience; engineering expertise; and /or experience working with water utilities to strengthen their planning, operational and financial performance.
  • Business and utility transformation expertise.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) specialists including MEL specialists with team leadership experience and / or adaptive management experience.
  • Gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) specialists.
  • Operations and finance specialists including those with experience performing senior and middle-level operations, finance, security and / or fleet management roles.
  • Strategic communications and events management experts include experience in developing a wide range of communication products and managing public diplomacy events.


Location of work opportunities
PNG-based and / or home-based (remote work), depending on the nature of individual assignments.
