Roles and Responsibilities:

As a member of the Finance Department, the Field Finance Manager will overseas field operations. Responsibilities include providing leadership to the Field Finance Coordinators and project teams in monthly reviews, identifying of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and guiding periodic analysis of operations performance. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and regular engagement with the Division Finance and Administrative Directors.

  • Ensure proper internal controls are in field office and operating effectively in accordance with company standards and government, donor regulations.
  • Provide financial and accounting guidance and train Project Coordinators
  • Supervise overseas Field Finance Coordinator.
  • Establish monthly closing and reporting schedules for Field Finance in the beginning of the fiscal year and ensure such schedules are successfully met during the year.
  • Oversee recording and reporting of field transactions to ensure compliance with the company’s established policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the field advance transactional cycle for grants, travel, and other advances to ensure that the transactions are reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adequate documentation for transactions incurred overseas – timely verification and reporting of Field Reports receipts and certifications.
  • Identify potential field finance issues, research, and propose solutions.
  • Initiate and lead field finance special projects for process improvements or cost savings.
  • Schedule audits in the field as required and appropriate in the URC-CHS countries.
  • Provide support to program audits and field financial reviews.
  • Supervise the day-to-day responsibilities and help mentor and coach HQ- based Field Finance Coordinator.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with minimum seven years of related experience is required
  • Minimum of four years of related government contracting/USAID experience, with three or more years of financial and staff management experience is required
  • Knowledge of GAAP, the FAR and OMB Circular A-133 reporting, and transactional requirements is required
  • Must be proficient in QuickBooks, MS Excel, and Word
  • Experience with Cost point and managing financial programs preferred
  • Track record of working with teams in the field and mentoring staff
  • Proven ability to work well with diverse staff at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working well under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to developing countries and work with field staff as needed
