Job Description

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Cuba?

We offer:

A traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Cuba, subject to availability of the budget. The tentative start dates are:

  • 01/04/2026 for the 1st traineeship (till 30/09/2026),
  • 01/07/2026 for the 2nd traineeship (till 31/12/2026),
  • 01/10/2026 for the 3rd traineeship (till 31/03/2027).

Main tasks:

  • Compilation, analysis, and writing of reports and notes on national and international issues, mainly on law, economy, society and culture;
  • Support in the preparation of meetings with external interlocutors (Member States, civil society, authorities) and the organization of high-level missions and visits;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of institutional communication strategies and campaigns on social networks and the delegation’s website; follow up on relevant social networks and contribute to updating the different platforms of the Delegation of the European Union in Cuba;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of institutional communication strategies and campaigns on EUDEL’s social media and website, in collaboration with the Communications Officer. Contribute to monitoring relevant social media and updating the Delegation’s social media platforms;
  • Support in the organization of public and cultural diplomacy events of the Delegation.

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • A university graduate in one of the following fields: Law, Economics, International Relations, International Trade, Journalism, History;
  • Candidates must have less than one year of professional experience after graduation by the signing date of the traineeship agreement;
  • No prior experience of more than 6 weeks in any European Union institution;
  • Excellent knowledge of Spanish and English. French will be an asset;
  • Experience in social media management and organization of academic and cultural events;
  • Knowledge of EU-Cuba relations will be positively valued.
