Deloitte seeks individuals and/or companies with expertise developing and operating geothermal power projects, including experience operating a geothermal power plant.
Position Description and Objectives:
As the Geothermal Specialist, you will support several deliverables across the scope of work to provide technical capacity building to counterparts as they prepare for construction and operation of a geothermal power plant.
Responsibilities, Outcomes and Deliverables:
The Geothermal Specialist will support counterpart utilities and other stakeholders by providing technical capacity building to help them develop and operate geothermal power plants. The specialist will carry out specific activities in a scope of work that may include but is not limited to:
· Provide virtual trainings to counterparts on topics such as resource exploration, operations and planning of geothermal plans, and other topics to build the counterpart capacity in geothermal project development and execution
· Provide in-person trainings to counterparts on geothermal project development and execution
· Draft technical reports with written recommendations advising counterpart governments on training topics and/or other topics related to geothermal resource development and geothermal power plant operation
· Provide technical support to advance the design and development of transmission infrastructure to interconnect a geothermal power plant with a utility power system, including consultations, discussions, and Q&A with government counterparts
· Work closely with a team to deliver results for counterpart institutions
· Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve counterpart issues constraining geothermal power plant development operation
· Maintain a hands-on role to ensure deadlines are met and key deliverables are always accurate
· Implement and oversee the quality of technical deliverables
Minimum Skills, Education & Experience:
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
· Bachelor’s degree
· 10 years of experience developing and operating geothermal power projects, including experience with geothermal power plant operations
· Experience working with government and public sector clients including international development organizations
· Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching others
· Experience managing senior-level client relationships
· Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
· Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
· Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills such as the ability to write and speak clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a diverse audience
· Proficiency in technical report writing, and presentation creation and delivery
· Experience in smaller electric systems is preferred
