JOB PURPOSE
The HR business partner (HRBP) for the Latin America and Caribbean Region (LACR) provides dedicated HR support to LACR and develops close working relationships with the country office and regional team to understand and support alignment of organizational objectives. The position serves as a consultant to local HR and management on human resource-related issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and seeks to develop integrated solutions. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the organization’s financial position, strategy, and its culture.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a strategic business consultant and partner to LACR.
- Conducts meetings with in-country HR and leadership.
- Consults with in-country HR and leadership providing guidance, when appropriate, in matters such as employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, employee development, compensation and benefits, education and training, etc.
- Ensures compliance through in-country HR reviews of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, payroll, etc. to reduce legal risks.
- Manage the hiring process within the region through local HR staff; and coordinate and execute the hiring process of regional and in-country leadership positions including interviews, contract terms, orientation, etc.
- Provides guidance and input on country office restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Works closely with in-country HR to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides support in the development, training, and interpretation of HR policies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree and relevant industry experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish, French is a plus.
- 5+ years’ of HR Generalist experience.
- Experience in working with different cultures, personalities and capacities.
- Worked in a virtual office environment.
- Must have extensive employee relations experience including, but not limited to: coaching managers on the resolution of performance issues; interpretation and application of HR policies and employment law; employee investigations; and severance and termination proceedings.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, recruitment, organizational development, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Office environment within our operating areas in LACR (Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, Haiti) or within the US.
• 40% travel within the region
