Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The HR Operations Support Specialist is part of the Operations Support Unit under the HR Support Section of the HR Service Center. This role reports to the HR Operations Support Team Lead. The HR Operations Support Specialist is responsible for providing specialized HR administrative support to CARE employees. This role focuses in one of the core HR services in the area of recruitment, benefits administration, personnel movements, on-boarding & off-boarding etc. This role handles employee concerns and requests requiring more specialized attention and processing.

The HR Operations Support Specialist uses his/her specialized knowledge in a specific HR functional area to support day to day People & Culture operations.

Success in this role requires: extensive knowledge in the specific HR functional area, high proficiency in utilizing systems and tools in the area of specialization; ability to work with high level of independence; customer orientation; excellent communication (verbal and written) skills; and advanced HR technical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specialized Core HR Operational Support

  • Support the day-to-day People & Culture operations within a specific functional area – recruitment support, benefits administration, billing, personnel movements, new hire onboarding support, employee offboarding, etc. Process service requests in the specialization area such as job posting, benefits enrollment, personnel action processing, billing payment processing, onboarding paperwork processing, and separation action processing.

Case Escalation Support

  • In charge of handling more complex, complicated and niche type concerns or requests requiring specialized processing. Provide support for escalated tickets from the HR People Support Administrators. Resolve escalated tickets using technical knowledge in the area of specialization in accordance to set Service Level Agreements (SLA).

HR Knowledge Management

  • In charge of process documentation making sure all processes and procedures in the area of specialization are properly documented. Ensure that process documents, reference materials, and web pages such as Benefits Center, Employee Handbook, P&C Knowledge Base, etc. are updated for any information changes. Train the HR People Support Administrators to provide them a high-level information in their functional area to enable them to answer general HR queries.

Continuous Improvement

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in the area of specialization. Identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement on HR processes and procedures. Promote use of efficient systems, tools,  and procedures to streamline HR processes.

HR Projects Implementation

  • Work on regular or special projects in the assigned functional area such as Annual Benefits Open Enrollment, International Allowance data collection, Reorg Mass Update, etc. Coordinates HR projects or initiatives in the area of specialization as the main resource person.

HR Compliance Management

  • Ensure compliance to labor laws, regulations, and company policies within his/her functional area. Responsible in conducting compliance reviews, providing training on standards in the area of specialization, monitoring regulatory changes, investigating compliance findings, and properly documenting cases of non-compliance and corresponding corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with the Legal Team as necessary in proper interpretation of labor laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Behavioral Science or equivalent
- With at least 4 years work experience in Human Resources, at least 2 years of which is experience in the area of specialization (benefits administration)
- Deep understanding of HR principles, processes and procedure in the specialized HR functional area
- Adept user of HR systems and tools used in the area of specialization.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability in providing excellent customer service experience to employees
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to deal with employees in all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and has high level of initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Spanish required)
- Must be willing to work in the Eastern Time Zone (Atlanta), 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ET

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with U.S. benefits administration (401K, COBRA, FMLA, etc.) is a strong advantage
- Experience using UKG Pro or Oracle HCM is a plus
- Preferably has a good understanding of US state and federal labor laws and regulations
- Work experience in organizations with global reach like BPO, Shared Services, MNCs, International NGOs in an HR role catering to employees globally
