This internship aims to immerse the intern in the automation processes essential for the successful implementation of automation Technology for digital initiatives. The intern will support UNICEF’s ICT team in enhancing operational efficiency through Microsoft Platform tools, automation workflows, and end-user support. The intern will gain hands-on experience in ICT operations, troubleshooting, user training, and digital tools management within an international organization setting.

The objectives of this internship are:

The ICT intern will provide valuable support to the ICT team by assisting with operational and technical tasks, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end-user queries, and maintaining ICT systems and equipment as per UNICEF policies and procedures. The intern will also contribute to staff training on new and existing applications, prepare user guides and reference materials, and assist in cloud solutions and Microsoft platform operations.

This internship aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Ensure timely response to user requests, minimizing downtime and improving staff productivity across UNICEF JCO.
  • Improve service quality by helping maintain smooth ICT and audiovisual operations for virtual, hybrid, and in-person meetings.
  • Strengthen knowledge management through documentation, guides, and training, enabling better self-service and knowledge transfer within the section.
  • Support innovation and adoption of digital tools and cloud solutions, contributing to the overall modernization of ICT operations.

Some specifics tasks and activities for the duration of your internship are included but not limited to below:

  • Provide first-level ICT support, including receiving, processing, and logging service requests.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day hardware and software issues for staff.
  • Provide end-user support for UNICEF standard applications and ICT equipment.
  • Assist and support with Cloud solutions.
  • Assist Cloud Solution, and Microsoft Platform & Automation Support.
  • Provide technical assistance in conferencing and audiovisual equipment for meetings and events.
  • Support virtual and hybrid meetings to ensure smooth ICT and AV operations.
  • Assist in training staff on new and existing ICT systems and tools.
  • Develop user guides or reference materials to improve user self-service.
  • Participate in a cross-functional capstone project to promote UNICEF operational or programmatic activities

Minimum requirements:

Education: Have graduated within the past two years in the fields of Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another related field.

Skills: Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and basic ICT troubleshooting, Familiarity with technical support, problem-solving techniques, ICT tools, and troubleshooting methodologies, Awareness of Cloud platforms and automation processes, Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and address potential ICT issues, ; ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders. Experience in documentation and report writing is an asset, Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and proactively suggest improvements, Strong teamwork, client service, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and engage with multiple stakeholders.

Language Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic
