  • Internship Duration: 2–6 months possible
  • Potential starting dates: October 2025 – October 2026
  • This is a GJO used to build a pool of qualified candidates and will be used to fill internship vacancies between 1 October 2025 and 1 October 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will support IT development initiatives involving C#/.NET applications, SharePoint-based applications, Azure DevOps/Azure Data Cloud services and automation, Microsoft Power Platform apps, CRM portals, several databases, and AI models. These applications support OHCHR’s external human rights work and streamline internal processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in developing and customizing applications using C# / ASP.NET / .NET stack / HTML / JavaScript / React / Node.js, Telerik Kendo UI libraries.
  • Assist in developing and customizing applications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Design, support, and migrate databases (MS SQL).
  • Analyze requirements and design diverse automation solutions to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
  • Explore options to enhance and streamline development using Azure DevOps / Azure Cloud Data capabilities and automated pipelines.
  • Collaborate with developers to create technical solutions that meet user needs while adhering to best practices.
  • Conduct testing and quality assurance for applications and automation workflows.
  • Document technical processes, user guides, and training materials; conduct user interviews to refine requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and provide user assistance for developed applications.
  • Stay informed about trends and advancements in IT automation and Microsoft technologies, offering recommendations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Licenses & Certificates: Not mandatory but considered an asset.
  • Competency:
    • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, MS Azure Cloud Services, ASP.Net, MVC with C#, and SQL server.
    • Programming and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell) are an asset.
    • Experience in database management, process automation, and application development.
  • Technical Skills (knowledge of any of the following):
    • C#/.NET applications, MVC, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript
    • React, Node.js, Python
    • REST Web-API calls
    • SharePoint-based applications and lists
    • MS SQL DB development and ETL operations
    • Azure DevOps / Azure Data Cloud services and automation
    • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
    • CRM customization and service management (Atlassian suite knowledge an asset)
    • AI models development
  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Must be enrolled in the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree, enrolled in a graduate program, or have recently completed such a program.
    • Preferred fields: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
    • Knowledge of French or another official UN language is an advantage.
