Job Description

Duties
  • Serves as a key advisor and liaison for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Bureau for Management, Office of the Chief Information Officer (M/CIO) Front Office.
  • Facilitates M/CIO’s operational management and strategic engagement within the organization with external stakeholders. Guides the development and execution of M/CIO communications and outreach strategies with agency and administration priorities.
  • Manages the daily operations and actions of the M/CIO Front Office, ensuring that both internal and external engagements support strategic objectives.
  • Advises on information technology (IT) governance, compliance, procurement, and investments according to agency and federal policies and regulations.
  • Advises on the use of data and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to increase the Agency efficiency and optimize M/CIO’s operational processes.
  • Enhances knowledge-sharing and operational efficiency within M/CIO encouraging the adoption of best practices and developing management tools to facilitate M/CIO business processes.
Requirements Conditions of Employment

  • Relevant experience (see Qualifications below).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
  • You may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
  • These are Testing Designated Positions (TDP’s) under the Agency’s approved Drug-Free Work Place Program. All applicants selected for this position will be subject to random drug testing once they begin working for the Agency.
Qualifications Basic Requirement:

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate

GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

  3.   4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
