Responsibilities

As an Information Technology Specialist (System Analysis), your duties will include:

• Assisting in coordinating the acceptance of systems to the production environment and monitors systems for stability, accuracy, and performance.
• Collaborating with senior-level technical experts to write specifications, requirements and statements of work (SOWs) for information technology (IT) hardware and/or software, data analytics services, and maintenance in multi-year IT contracts.
• Developing and implement procedures, tools, templates, activities, and infrastructure to facilitate project management, data quality, and governance.
• Preparing trade-off analyses and business cases to justify IT and data analytics solutions and define systems scope and objectives.
• Performing administrative and technical duties necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
• Designing and overseeing systems testing.

Qualifications

GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: (a) using computer hardware and software concepts and the employment of mathematical and computer based modeling of business, computer and system processes; (b) leading and participating in integrated project teams, drafting statements of work, performing business case development, project management and contractor management and support inspector general audits; and (c) providing contractor oversight for a full range of systems.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, relevant to the duties of the position to be filled, including volunteer experience.
