Contribute to the development and enhancement of custom applications supporting Infrastructure NOC operations.
Maintain and update applications built on the React framework for monitoring and reporting.
Develop REST API integrations to connect monitoring platforms, dashboards, and internal tools.
Build and refine Grafana dashboards for real-time visualization of ICT infrastructure performance.
Research and prototype Large Language Model (LLM)-based solutions (Claude, LLaMA) for onboarding, automation, and knowledge capture.
Contribute to AI and IT automation projects, including deployment and optimization of Microsoft Copilot for IT workflows.
Document code, integration steps, dashboards, and application processes for sustainability.
Participate in infrastructure projects such as dashboard optimization, automation scripts, and virtual machine migration.
Collaborate with peers and engineers to enhance the monitoring and application ecosystem.
Communicate with supervisors on progress, blockers, and new opportunities for automation.
Contribute to knowledge capture and documentation by drafting SOPs, playbooks, and technical notes.

The internship has multiple positions available, is full-time, in-person at UNON Nairobi, and is unpaid.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in information and communication technology (ICT) or related area.
Enrolled in the final academic year of a degree program in ICT or related area.
Completed at least three years of full-time studies towards an ICT degree or related degree in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages.

Desired Profile:
Familiarity with the React framework for front-end development.
Understanding of REST API design and integration.

Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently on exploratory projects.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Field of study should be closely related to the type of internship applied for.
Must be in the final year of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. program, or have completed such a program. Proof must be attached to the application.
Experience in application development, APIs, and dashboard development is desirable. Applicants should describe relevant academic projects.
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
