Expected Duration

  • 3 months (initially) from 6 October, with potential extension for an additional 3 months based on performance

Duties and Responsibilities
The interns (4 positions) will support the OHCHR Evaluation, Planning, and Policy functions under the supervision of the Evaluation Officer/Programme Management Officer. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the management of evaluations in the Evaluation Plan 2025-2026, including:
    • Collecting documents from the PMS and other sources for desk reviews
    • Preparing meetings
    • Revising and proofreading evaluation reports
  • Assist in drafting and revising guidance, checklists, templates, executive summaries, evaluation management responses, and follow-up action plans
  • Support evaluation and planning communication strategies, including development of infographics, videos, summaries, and presentations
  • Support mainstreaming of Gender Equality, Disability Inclusion, Human Rights, and Leaving No One Behind (LNOB) in evaluations and planning documents
  • Update repositories of evaluation reports on OHCHR intranet, website, and UNEG website
  • Organize the database of evaluation management responses and follow-up action plans
  • Assist in uploading, reviewing, and correcting evaluation-related data in the Decision Tracking System
  • Assist in uploading evaluation data in the evaluation module of the Performance Monitoring System (PMS)
  • Revise and maintain the database and mailing list of evaluation consultants
  • Assist in screening and recruiting candidates for evaluation consultancies
  • Analyze, conduct internal outreach, and present data relating to the implementation of the OHCHR Management Plan (OMP) 2024-2027 and projects
  • Assist in quality assurance of OHCHR’s work plans, country programmes, projects, and related reports
  • Support implementation of processes for reviewing and approving OHCHR planning documents, including pilot and roll-out of new digital tools and workflows
  • Support organization of events and meetings, including preparing agendas, background notes, meeting summaries or minutes, and tracking action points
  • Harmonize guidance on governance document development (policies, SOPs, etc.) and ensure alignment with strategic requirements
  • Contribute to revising governance document templates
  • Assist in compiling, reviewing, and updating the database of existing governance documents, liaising with focal points for review of outdated documents
  • Update intranet and decision-tracking system with relevant policy documents and progress
  • Support implementation of Organizational Effectiveness Action Plans (OEAPs) related to Leadership and Organizational Culture Shift, and contribute to monitoring framework for OEAP implementation
  • Assist in preparation and organization of workshops and initiatives aligned with OEAP goals
  • Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors

Qualifications/Special Skills
Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a second university degree (or equivalent or higher)
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree (bachelor’s or equivalent)

Additional desirable skills:

  • Field of study related to Policy, Programming, or Human Rights
  • Drafting ability in English
  • Skills in graphic design

  • Costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution
