Duties and Responsibilities
This post is located in the United Nations Security and Safety Service (UNSSS), Division for Management (DM) of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV). The Intern reports to the Chief, UNSSS through the Assistant Chief. The position supports the work of the Security and Safety Service. The internship is for six (6) months with a desired starting date in January 2026.
The position will be UNPAID and full-time, i.e. five days (40 hours per week) under the supervision of the Assistant Chief, coordinator of the Security Risk Management Team. For information on the work of UNOV kindly visit www.unov.org.

Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Ability to do research in various topics is desirable.
