Duties and Responsibilities
The internship opportunity at the ESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (SRO-ENEA) located in Songdo, Incheon, Republic of Korea, spans a minimum duration of three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months as deemed necessary by the office.
This internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week, totaling 40 hours per week, under the supervision of a designated staff member in their assigned team.
Intern responsibilities involve dynamic and varied tasks related to social affairs. This includes contributing to event organization, research, and planning activities as well as other related initiatives, including research on SDG progress and ageing population trends of the East and North East Asia subregion. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Masters or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelors, Masters or PH.D. Programme.

Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Teams.
Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts is desirable.
Ability to design surveys and polls is desirable.
Experience in organizing events such as conferences and workshops is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
