The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called “Grow Green” Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. The GGGI Lao PDR program has been expanding across key areas of climate and sustainability, including solid waste management, sanitation, climate adaptation, energy, mobility, green finance and carbon markets. GGGI is currently working closely with the Department of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MoAE) to implement the “ASEAN-Korea Cooperation for Methane Mitigation (AKCMM) Project”, funded by the ASEAN Korea Cooperation Fund (AKFC). The project aims to achieve a regional reduction in methane emissions in the key sectors such as agriculture, waste, and energy across all ASEAN member states, including Lao PDR. With this, GGGI Lao PDR is looking for a qualified intern to join the AKCMM project team.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation on Methane Mitigation (AKCMM) project in the GGGI Laos Country Program, with a focus on providing administrative and logistical support to the project team.

The assignment will include the following but not limited to:

  • Provide administrative and logistic support to the project team when required.
  • Support the preparation of draft concept notes, official letters, workshop agenda, budget, and speeches, note taking, and collect receipts, technical and financial reports after the event.
  • Engage with stakeholders and government officials at various line ministries associated with the above sectors, including preparing official letters, invitations, coordination, and communication/follow-up.
  • Support in Lao – English - Lao translation in both written and oral when needed.
  • Support communication staff in updating AKCMM website and social media when needed.
  • Provide other administrative and technical support to the GGGI Lao PDR Country Program as requested.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to GGGI Lao Country Program upon request.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program, or be a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
  • Possess an excellent command of English.

QUALIFICATION

  • Enrolled in/recent graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degrees in business administration, environmental science, environmental management or engineering, economics, international relations, sustainable development, agriculture, forestry or other related fields.
  • Experience in but not limited to internship, voluntary works, international development, projects, or in a field related to the institute’s work.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Lao.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
  • GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.
  • Due to high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
