Job Description

Responsibilities

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

In particular the intern will:

  • Provide information on the different types of Visas and Migration Programs.
  • Fill out the forms.
  • Review and receive Visa applications and other documentation.
  • Carry out different quality control processes.
  • Draft reports
  • Manage personal and confidential information.
  • Perform Biometrics Enrollments
  • Coordinate security issues with the IOM security officer.
  • Perform other tasks assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s degree in humanities, administration, international relations, and related fields.

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in related tasks. Please attach a letter with employment or personal references.

Skills

  • Ability to work as a team player and under pressure
  • Strong attention to details and prevention of errors
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive
  • IT skills are desirable

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

  • For this position, fluency in English and Spanish is required (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of French and other languages is recommended

Eligibility and Selection

The selected candidate for this internship position will work on site (in the country of the duty station where this position is based). Interns will receive a monthly stipend.

In general, the Internship aims at attracting talented students and graduates who are between 20 and 36 years of age.

Must, at the time of application, a) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or b) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or c) have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.

Depending on experience and location, IOM provides a small monthly stipend to help offset costs.

This internship will be supporting the IOM Mission in Asunción, Paraguay.
