Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities):
Main purpose of Internship:
To support the Chevening Officer in administrative and logistical duties, the implementation of projects, the organisation of events and other general tasks for the management of the Chevening Scholarships Programme in Colombia. Chevening is the UK’s flagship scholarships programme to enable outstanding emerging leaders to pursue one-year master’s degrees in the UK.
Responsibilities will include to support project management and the logistical organisation of events, including receptions and public presentations (both in-person and online). Other important tasks entail the logistical support for sifting and interviewing Chevening candidates and constant updating of databases and other information for the success of the programme. The intern will also support communications (liaising with the Embassy’s communications team) and will constantly engage with the Chevening Alumni Association of Colombia for joint activities and tasks for the visibility and management of the programme.
There will also be opportunities to support the broader Political Section, including attending internal or external meetings and events; providing inputs for political reporting, including the weekly update; possibly supporting activities involving the Ambassador or Deputy Head of Mission; other opportunities that may arise.
