Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, Regional Program (WHP) and the direct supervision of the Regional Research Officer, and in coordination with the Data team of the WHP Data and Research Unit, the intern will be responsible for strengthening the processes of systematization, analysis, and visualization of regional migration data through technical support in databases, data science, and visualization tools.

Responsibilities
  • Support the cleaning and analysis of regional migration data from various sources.
  • Support the structuring and consolidation of a regional database.
  • Contribute to the generation of datasets and formats that are easy to use for communication teams, project management, and decision-makers.
  • Participate in the update of the regional migration data dashboard.
  • Support the development of interactive maps using tools such as ArcGIS Online.
Qualifications

REQUIRED PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION

  • Final-year university student or recent graduate (less than one year since graduation).
  • Related careers: Computer Engineering, Statistics, Geography, Data Science or similar.
  • Knowledge in: Python, SQL, R, ArcGIS.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in database projects.
  • Data visualization.

OTHERS :

  • Age between 20 and 36 years.
  • Residence in Costa Rica.
  • Workplace: Bimodal (In-person 2 days / Remote 3).
  • Immediate availability, desirable full-time (5 days a week) and high commitment from the person.
  • Own a personal laptop.

LANGUAGES :

For all candidates, proficiency in Spanish (oral and written) is required.

Desirable: Basic knowledge of the English language.
