The British Embassy in Pristina, Kosovo, is part of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s (FCDO) world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit two (2) full-time interns. This is a new opportunity for high-calibre recent graduates or those graduating soon with an interest in gaining work experience in a field related to the Embassy’s activities, such as political reporting, security, economics and development, programme management, trade, culture, communications, administration and more. Benefiting from working in a medium sized Embassy, interns have the possibility to interact closely with senior management to help develop and deliver UK government policy towards Kosovo.
The internship programme will last 6 months, with a possibility to extend up to 12 months. A tailored programme will be designed for the interns to ensure their experience at Post captures work across different sections of the Embassy. Interns recruited locally by the British Embassy in Pristina are subject to the Embassy’s Internship Policy, and will be treated following the best practices of local labour law (current Country Based Staff Terms and Conditions, where applicable) as interpreted by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
This is a full-time internship for 5 working days (36 hours net) per week. The monthly gross salary for this position is € 290.86.
Working hours are 36 hours net per week. Standard working hours are from 08:00-16:30 from Monday to Thursday and 08:00-13:00 on Fridays. This role will require occasional out-of-hours work including evenings and weekends, which will be compensated with time off in lieu (TOIL) or occasionally overtime.
The probation period for this role is 1 month. The contract is six months, with a possibility of extension to 1 year.
