Bernard Brunhes International (BBI) consortium is shortlisted and invited to tender for the EU-funded contract “Social Inclusion - service contract for Awareness Raising and Media Campaign” in Serbia (EuropeAid/129807/C/SER/RS).
The overall objectives of the project are:
1) To improve public knowledge and understanding of children with disabilities in Serbia;
2) To disseminate and multiply good practices of social inclusion of children with disabilities.
The specific objectives of this contract are:
1. To contribute to improving public knowledge and understanding of children with disabilities in Serbia;
2. To tackle prejudice and misperceptions about children with disabilities in Serbia;
3. To support social inclusion process of children with disabilities by increased level of public and political support in the country based on well informed opinion and realistic expectations, and support reduction of children with disabilities number placed in residential institutions;
4. To explain the impact and results of social inclusion approaches taken in other EU member states, as well as in Serbia;
5. To effectively propose/handle media campaign envisaged under this contract.
The traget group is the general public of Serbia, while the specific target groups are: medical and educational professions, social services and all other stakeholders at central and local level involved in the process, media and NGOs.
The project will be primarily located in Belgrade, but also throughout Serbia through project-related activities.
The indicative start date is Feb 2011, for 12 months.
BBI is looking for highly qualified, experienced and dedicated professional for the long-term Key Expert’s position (for 140 working days over 12 months) in Serbia, with the following profile and expertise:
Key Expert 2: Communication Officer
S/he will tackle relations with media, the implementation of the media campaign, organisation of various events, making sure that all these activities have enough coverage in the media and the public and all the key messages are conveyed via respective communication channels, publications and web-site to the Serbian public.
1. Qualifications and skills:
- University level education (preferably social sciences) or at least 15 years of professional experience in the field;
- Fluency in Serbian and English language.
2. General professional experience:
- At least 5 (preferably more) years of experience in the implementation of media related activities, journalism, public information events and campaigns, public relations, promotional activities;
-Experience in communication of institutional PR and social policy campaigns.
3. Specific professional experience:
- Experience in at least 2 (preferably more) media campaign of similar size on social issues;
- At least 5 (preferably more) years of experience in development of written and/or audiovisual materials on social issues;
- Good knowledge of the local media situation;
- Event management experience and knowledge;
- Experience in producing comprehensive communication strategies, media campaigns and projects related to social issues or targeting vulnerable/disadvantaged groups.
All candidates should have worked in IPA countries (EU Member States, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, FYR of Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo and Turkey).
