Job Description

The Knowledge Management Advisor is responsible for developing processes, strategies and content for the dissemination of tools, results and lessons learned to a wide variety of audiences interested in introducing and adopting Indian RMNCH+A solutions and innovations in resource-constrained countries. Thisposition is also responsible for developing, adapting and scaling up core tools for demand assessment, feasibility, market shaping for each high-impact innovation, developing and documenting standards and procedures for adopting innovations, ensuring that core frameworks and tools are needs-driven, and developing methods and providing training to promote cross-country adoption of innovations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, lead, and oversee implementation of strategies to foster knowledge sharing throughout the Project and with external stakeholders.
  • Develop knowledge sharing platforms including websites, social media, elearning exhanges
  • Manage and contribute to relevant knowledge exchanges to promote project objectives
  • Develop and maintain system-wide training and resource materials linked to knowledge management.
  • Design, coordinate and support implementation of webinars, online training, virtual collaborative exchanges symposiums, conferences and other events
  • Create e-newsletters to disseminate information thereby improving efficient decision-making and increasing productivity by providing the means for staff to locate the knowledge they need when they need it.
  • Build relationships with leading global and regional projects and agencies, including USAID/W, missions, other USG agencies, NGOs/FBOs, governments, and the private sector, in order to exchange knowledge on state-of-the-art approaches; advocate for and facilitate innovation transfer; and build the capacity of local organizations in knowledge sharing technologies

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

Education & experience

  • A Master’s degree in social sciences or related degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience
  • Experience working in RMNCH or related areas preferred
  • Substantial understanding of knowledge management theory, practice and tools
  • Extensive experience in determining appropriate knowledge management processes, products and ICT enabled platforms
  • Extensive experience in international public health program development
  • Exposure and experience in multiple countries preffered
  • Ability to use computer systems and effectively organize information on internal and external websites
  • Excellent communication skills orally and in writing in English
  • Ability to gain cooperation from individuals or groups over whom there is no direct authority to accomplish program goals
