EnCompass LLC is seeking a Knowledge Management & Learning IT Manager to join our growing, passionate, and diverse international development firm. In this role you will be responsible for innovating and reimagining critical knowledge workflows by configuring and administrating our SharePoint Online intranet, deepening our utilization and integration of Microsoft 365 and other digital KM&L tools/applications, and the continuous improvement and integration of the digital employee experience at EnCompass.

This is a full-time position located at the EnCompass principal office in Silver Spring, Maryland, and follows the EnCompass flexible hybrid work model with split time between telework and the office.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

KM IT Optimization, Governance, & User Training:

  • Leverage Microsoft 365 tools to facilitate knowledge capture, storage, retrieval, and sharing within the organization.
  • Stay abreast of technology-based solutions that address business challenges including, but not limited to, M365 updates and features, advancements in generative AI tools and applications, and opportunities for harmonization between client and internal digital environments.
  • Use tools like Power BI to analyze data related to digital knowledge management activities and produce reports that inform decision-making and strategy refinement.
  • Develop and deliver a training program to educate employees on Microsoft 365 and other digital KM tools’ governance, features, and best practices.
  • Customize Microsoft 365 and other digital tools as required; integrating them with other systems to meet specific knowledge management needs of the organization.
  • Ensure that all digital knowledge management activities comply with data security, privacy, and compliance standards, utilizing Microsoft 365’s security features where applicable

Digital Employee Experience Enhancement:

  • Assess and improve on the current digital employee experience, focusing on user experience, security, and knowledge management best practices.
  • Lead the integration of and automation between applications and digital systems/tools to streamline and automate critical workflows.
  • Analyze data and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies.
  • Provide timely and thoughtful support, troubleshooting, and guidance to users and teams.
  • Intranet (SharePoint Online) Administration
  • Manage user permissions, access controls, and implement security standards.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement information architecture and taxonomy; lead improvement of intranet search and surfacing.
  • Provide guidance and instruction for intranet “hub leaders” to support an emerging community of digital KM&L managers.

Other:

  • Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass events, and providing administrative support to other team members as needed
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

Academic Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 10 years of experience; or Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience; or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience; or Master’s degree and 4 years of experience. Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Knowledge Management, Digital Transformation, or a related field.
  • One or more Microsoft 365 certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert and/or demonstrated experience as a SharePoint or Teams Administrator

Experience and Skills

  • Success in building relationships with stakeholders to assess needs, support change processes, deliver high-quality services, and solve problems.
  • SharePoint Online Administrator experience; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Problem-solving orientation and ability to manage dynamic workflows and priorities, sometimes independently.
  • Excellent facilitation, activity management, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability and commitment to actively contribute to an appreciative, strengths-based environment and support others in working in this type of environment.

The pay range for this role allows for the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At EnCompass, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,000 - $135,000.
