Job Description
Chemonics International is seeking a Learning and Development Intern for the Project Development and Support Division. Under the direction of their supervisor, the intern is integrated into the daily work of the Learning and Development (L&D) team focused on providing staff with access to high quality, in-person, virtual, asynchronous, and blended learning initiatives. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
At the core of the L&D team we strive to:
- Design, develop, and deliver tailored and impactful learning initiatives for our global workforce
- Support critical business needs through staff-focused onboarding and upskilling
- Engage with Chemonics staff to increase learner access, use, and impact of L&D initiatives
The intern will work primarily with:
- Training Design and Delivery: Under supervision of L&D teammates, the intern will help identify, design, update, and/or deliver learning initiatives that support our core curricula of business development, project management, and/or management and leadership.
- Training Engagement and Evaluation: In collaboration with L&D teammates, the intern will support Chemonics’ approach to training engagement and evaluation, including identifying ways to drive increased user engagement, learner adoption, and overall training impact.
Responsibilities:
- With the help of a supervisor, the intern would complete one to three priority projects or efforts based on needs of the team and bandwidth
- Will attend and observe internal meetings and under supervision, support the design, delivery, engagement and/or evaluation of in-house learning initiatives
- Will support the updating, improving and publishing of corporate resources using Adobe Acrobat, MS Office tools, and/or training authoring tools (ex. Storyline, Vyond, etc)
- Will support the preparation and production of virtual and in-person instructor led trainings
- As appropriate, co-facilitates relevant organizational courses and events
- Will attend L&D team meetings and trainings
- Will participate in all internship activities and events scheduled during normal business hours
- Will attend Chemonics’ internal trainings related to project management, professional development, and new business
- May assist with desk research or other short-term assignments as appropriate
- Will complete a summary report of a completed priority project detailing lessons learned and deliverables completed
- Will complete all requirements of the Chemonics Summer Internship Program
Requirements:
- Enrolled student currently pursuing an undergraduate (rising junior or senior) degree
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA
- English language proficiency
- Demonstrated interest or coursework in adult learning and training program management, international development, business project management, data analytics, or organizational development a plus
- Ability to work on a team and independently on projects and tasks
- Experience using the Microsoft suite of products.
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
