Background

The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) leads the Department of Labor’s (DOL) efforts to ensure that workers around the world are treated fairly and are able to share in the benefits of the global economy. ILAB’s mission is to safeguard the dignity at work, both at home and abroad by strengthening global labor standards, enforcing labor commitments among trading partners, promoting racial and gender equity, and combating international child labor, forced labor and human trafficking.

Dexis Consulting Group is seeking a consultant to provide the services of a Local Coordinator to support data collection fieldwork for evaluations with DOL ILAB in the Philippines. Under the direction of the Lead Evaluator, the Local Coordinator for Philippines will coordinate and schedule meetings in the initial phase of the evaluation. The Local coordinator will facilitate smooth coordination to schedule and manage all stakeholder consultations for data collection and serve as point of contact for interview scheduling and logistics coordination. Additionally, the local coordinator may provide translation and data organization support, if necessary, for the stakeholder consultations. The Local Coordinator will use well-organized methods of managing and tracking primary data collection schedules for the evaluation team.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Lead Evaluator and in consultation with Dexis, the Local Coordinator for Philippines will be responsible for fieldwork logistics and coordination. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Participate in weekly check-ins, as well as meetings with the client (on an as needed basis).
• In coordination with the evaluation team, develop the tracking and management tools for data and consultation scheduling.
• Work closely with the Lead Evaluator and evaluation team to coordinate and schedule initial meetings for this evaluation.
• Develop methods for managing and tracking primary data collection schedules for the evaluation team.
• Support Lead Evaluator and evaluation team in coordinating field itinerary.
• Lead the logistical management of field data collection, including supporting the Lead Evaluator in maintaining compliance with federal travel regulations and Dexis policies.
• Act as a translator and support data organization for stakeholder consultations (as needed).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• At least 3 years of experience in logistics and/or coordination.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Fluency in Tagalog is required.
• Ability to produce high quality reports in proficient English in a timely fashion
• Experience coordinating meetings, travel, logistics, etc.
• Experience in Data Collection, Management, and/or enumeration preferred.
