Job Description

Chemonics seeks a Global Supply Chain (GSC) Management Information Systems (MIS) Catalog Specialist to join the Global Health Supply Chain Program – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Project. The MIS Catalog Specialist maintains, updates, and manages the GHSC-PSM Catalog (hereinto referred to as the “Catalog”), which is housed in the WebSphere Commerce Suite (WCS) application within the GHSC-PSM MIS. GHSC-PSM strategically sources and manages quality-assured commodities like essential medicines and supplies for HIV/AIDS, malaria, maternal and child health, and reproductive health programs. To manage the process, we deploy technical experts to guide and strengthen the supply-chain process from storage to delivery in real time. The position will have responsibilities that effect the GHSC-PSM Global Supply Chain and the overall GHSC-PSM Sourcing Strategy. The Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project is the primary vehicle through which USAID 1) procures and provides health commodities, 2) provides technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the supply chain, and 3) collaborates with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of a product coding system and classification(s) in compliance with accepted international standards.
  • Manage the Catalog for all stock and non-stock products, and other relevant databases, in close collaboration with the source team.
  • Work with members of the GHSC-PSM team to understand the usability of new products to ensure their proper codification according to approved GHSC-PSM guidelines.
  • Manage end users and had-hoc requests for product addition/update
  • Update the Catalog with new/modified products and attributes thereof.
  • Update the Catalog for discontinued/obsolete products as required.
  • Explore opportunities to include vendor’s catalog information into the Catalog.
  • Support the creation and update of GHSC-PSM supported countries, and others, as required.
  • Support the creation of Catalog eSites specific to Partner Countries.
  • Regularly assess utilization and effectiveness of the Catalog.
  • Run management reports from the GHSC-PSM MIS to maintain Catalog quality and check for errors related to duplications, typographical errors, units of measure (UOM), supplier information, product specifications, and others as identified.
  • Support the GHSC-PSM Sourcing Strategy through standardization and other strategies to contribute to the optimization of the PSM Global Supply Chain.
  • Collaborate with the MIS Team with Catalog optimization enhancements and configurations.
  • Maintain rigorous quality standards, including ISO requirements, for the Catalog and ensure their adherence.
  • Train a core team of GHSC-PSM staff who can act as Catalog Manager during absences.
  • Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation and exceeding expectations.
  • Orchestrates automated master data exchange with suppliers utilizing GS1 Global Standards and the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN).
  • Manages mapping and management of GS1 identifiers to enable synchronization of product master data through the GDSN. Analyzes synchronized data to update and correct catalog master data.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience, with knowledge of health products preferred.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience in working with large enterprise Procure-to-Pay and/or ERP systems preferred.
  • English language fluency required.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of 4-8 weeks per year.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope requirements and prioritize tasks.
  • The ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the enterprise and to work with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Results oriented person with a strong delivery focus and can work independently and collaboratively with global teams.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge and experience with VBA, SQL, Python
  • Knowledge and experience working with databases
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $68,560 - $85,700.

An employee’s pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.

Overtime exemption status may change due to state regulatory requirements.
