Job Description

The Mitchell Group, Inc. (TMG) is seeking to recruit experienced Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) professionals for multiple positions supporting large-scale humanitarian and development evaluations. Experience in conducting evaluations for the UN, the World Food Programme (WFP), international NGOs, and other multilateral or bilateral organizations is highly preferred.

Qualified candidates will join multidisciplinary evaluation teams to lead or contribute to project, program, and thematic evaluations in humanitarian and development contexts.

Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following thematic areas relevant to evaluation work:

  • Crisis response and humanitarian assistance
  • Food security and nutrition

  • Common services include aviation, shipping, fleet management
  • Capacity strengthening

  • Humanitarian Principles and Conflict Sensitivity
  • Institutional analysis and workforce management
  • Risk management and mitigation

  • Transitioning/exiting from emergencies

Open Positions and Minimum Qualifications

1. Evaluation Team Leaders

  • 12+ years of extensive evaluation experience leading complex project, program, and thematic evaluations, ideally for the UN, WFP, international NGOs, or other multilateral/bilateral organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-country or multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to design and oversee complex evaluations from inception to reporting
  • Proficiency in English plus French or Spanish (depending on region)

2. Senior Evaluators

  • 12+ years of evaluation experience with a solid track record of conducting project, program, and thematic evaluations in humanitarian and/or development contexts, ideally working with the UN, WFP, international NGOs, or other multilateral/bilateral organizations
  • Thematic expertise in a variety of areas (see list below)
  • Proficiency in English plus French or Spanish (depending on region)

3. Intermediate Evaluators

  • 6–11 years of evaluation experience
  • Experience in humanitarian and/or development settings contributing to project, program, and thematic evaluations for the UN, WFP, international NGOs, or other multilateral/bilateral organizations
  • Proficiency in English plus French or Spanish (depending on region)

4. Research Analysts / Junior / Emerging Evaluators·

  • 3–5 years of evaluation experience contributing to project, program, and thematic evaluations for the UN or other multilateral organizations
  • Strong research and analytical skills and an interest in developing an evaluation career
  • Proficiency in English plus French or Spanish (depending on region)
