Job Description

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Assist in liaising and coordinating with relevant government agencies and other partners in China to promote cooperation on multilateral development initiatives including within the framework of the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund.
  • Support internal coordination and communication with IOM country and regional offices as well as relevant divisions in the HQ to facilitate a strategic and streamlined approach to engage in these initiatives.
  • Support the development of project proposals and other documents in line with the requirements of relevant initiatives and organizational standards
  • Maintain regular communication with Chinese counterparts and relevant IOM offices to facilitate the implementation of projects and provide assistance to the preparation of project reporting documents.
  • Support IOM regional office and HQ in collecting information on funding trends and opportunities, and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and capacity-building activities.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
  • Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in fundraising or partnerships development with multilateral donors.
  • Experience preparing project proposals and concept notes.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
  • Prior work experience with Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund is an advantage.

SKILLS

  • Ability to support and maintain effective working relationships with donors and partners.
  • Knowledge of government and multilateral funding mechanisms, including those under the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund.
  • Strong organizational skills to support proposal development, agreements, and reporting processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for drafting proposals, reports, and briefing materials.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

REQUIRED

Native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and fluency in English is required (oral and written).
