Who We Are

  • The British Embassy in Muscat is part of a worldwide network representing the UK’s political, economic, security, and consular interests overseas.
  • We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual for a Networks and Partnerships Intern on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026.
  • The Intern will manage the Programmes Team’s networks, deliver events and engagement, spanning areas such as art, sport, digital innovation, business, sustainability, and opportunities for women and youth.
  • The role will also support the Embassy’s communications, corporate objectives, and crisis management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage effective delivery of Programmes Team events and engagement.
  • Handle networks and data management, ensuring successful event delivery, communication, and compliance.
  • Work closely with the Programme Manager, Tamkeen Coordinator, other Embassy teams, and report to the Head of Programmes.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include:
    • Working independently and proactively, exercising good judgment and escalating issues when required.
    • Solving problems, making event decisions, and providing recommendations based on evidence.
    • Developing relationships with a range of stakeholders and networks.
    • Creating and translating event and communications materials.
    • Collaborating with colleagues across the Embassy to ensure alignment with other activities and objectives.
    • Supporting crisis response, cultural initiatives, cohesion, and continuous professional development.
  • Enhance skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, events, and data management.
  • Take on ad hoc tasks as required.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • Proven resilience and experience managing multiple workstreams concurrently and delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and flexible approach; take initiative to work with others to achieve objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and develop networks and contacts.
  • Competent IT skills; proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
