In response to the recent crisis in Ukraine, Global Communities is seeking experienced humanitarian professionals to apply for positions on our external emergency response roster. As the situation evolves emergency response team members will support in identifying, designing and starting response activities in Ukraine or in neighboring countries based on need.

The Partnerships Manager will manage and coordinate all relevant partnerships for our planned Ukraine response. The position will be based in the country of response operations, which will be determined. The role of the Partnerships Manager is key to our coordination with national organizations within Ukraine or other surrounding countries in the region where we plan to operate. This role will be responsible for coordinating with these organizations and noting capacity gaps and creating support plans, so we can collaborate effectively with nationally based actors on the ground.

The position requires the ability to relocate for 3 months under short notice. Shortlisted candidates will go through a rapid interview/vetting process before deployment.

Responsibilities
  • Support with Ukraine translation services during all partnership related meetings, design/strategy sessions, and for reports/deliverables as needed.
  • Lead partnership development, particularly with organizations within Ukraine or the wider region that are involved in responding to the crisis in Ukraine.
  • Update Global Communities partnership related tools to align with engaging smaller organizations involved in Ukraine response.
  • Support with Ukrainian translation.
  • Develop a local organization partnerships strategy based on needs.
  • Point of contact for and lead on capacity assessment and development plans.
  • Identify Ukraine language humanitarian resources or translation software.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment, often working under pressure in insecure environments.
  • Leadership and management in complex environments skills.
  • Ability to process information and synthesize for key decision- makers.
  • Knowledge of partnership management best practices, including working with local NGOs, CSOs or national response mechanisms.
  • Strong cross cultural communication skills.
  • The ability to identify and problems as they arrive and proposing solutions across organizations.
  • Understanding of BHA and State Department donor requirements and ways of working.
  • Strong interpersonal and representational skills.
  • Completion of Hostile Environment Awareness Training within the past 3 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian response coordination architecture, mechanisms and standards.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline and a minimum of six years of related work experience or a minimum of ten years of related work experience.
  • Experience working in unstable environment abroad and/or complex emergencies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with partners including partner mapping and selection.
  • Experience working with national NGOs in Ukraine.
  • Experience managing and leading diverse and multi-functional teams.
  • Willingness to relocate for 3 to 6 months under short notice.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new environments and work with multi-national staff.
  • English skills required, fluency in Ukrainian strongly preferred.
  • Other languages include: Polish, Romanian, Moldovan or Russian proficiency language skills preferred.
