Job Description

The role

We are currently seeking a Bilingual (French & English) Process Engineer, with a strong background in Oil and Gas Process Design to join our team based in Accra, Ghana. The role will be an essential part of the team in the technical delivery of major oil and gas projects locally and across the West Africa Region.

Position Reports to

The Project Manager - Oil and Gas

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of the role is to provide process engineering support to the Oil and Gas Function. The individual will be responsible for engineering deliverables at design, construction, and commissioning stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and check process simulations, PFDs, HMBs, and PIDs
  • Prepare sizing calculations for vessels, pumps, lines, etc.
  • Prepare safety valve relief load calculation (as per API standard)
  • Prepare design basis, philosophy and control narrative
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, vendors and client
  • Work will range from conceptual studies through detailed engineering
  • Site visits may be required

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 4 - 7 years’ relevant experience in Oil and Gas Process Design
  • Must have a university degree in any of the engineering disciplines (Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering will be preferred)
  • Registered or eligible for registration with a recognised Professional Engineering body.
  • Proven experience in the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry in designing facilities for Oil and Gas Processing and transportation (pipelines).
  • Strong written and oral communication (English and French) skills.
  • Able to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and work with minimum supervision when required.
  • Ability to Mentor less experienced team members
  • Have a working knowledge of Hysys and/or other process simulation software.
  • Experience with HAZOP, HAZID and SIL rating studies preferred
  • Experience in basic engineering, FEED and detail engineering projects
  • Have a valid Passport
