Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Program Manager in overseeing contracts with partner organizations. Ensure data on program impact is collected from program partners and is organized. Support development of quarterly reporting with Yangon-based Program Manager and DC-based Burma Program Officer.
Assist in organizing trainings, events, and workshops in coordination with USIP’s Yangon-based Administrative Assistant.
Build and maintain strong relationships and coordination with USIP partners, government departments and other organizations. Assist the Program Manager in maintaining regular contact with them.
Support information management. This will include monitoring program activities and outputs and ensuring that data is organized and easily accessible for both the Yangon team and the DC team.
Contribute to work planning and tracking. Provide regular updates to the Program Manager on program progress and constraints.
Organize and participate in team meetings, record meeting minutes and share read-outs.
Attend events, meetings and training as assigned by Program Manager and provide read-outs as needed.
Ensure program contact lists are up to date.
Monitor political developments in Burma, including providing regular written updates on developments relevant to program activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably in political science, development studies, public policy or other social sciences.
2 years experience in similar position preferably in peace and conflict context.
Good command of English and Myanmar both verbal and written communication.
Ability to travel in country as assigned by Program Manager.
Experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation.
Experience working in MS word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required. Experience working with SharePoint / OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Planner or Microsoft PowerBI a plus.
Strong interpersonal communication skills
