Job Description

Counterpart International is seeking a program assistant to work from its DC Headquarters (HQ) to provide day-to-day support to the local DR Counterpart team, donors, and local stakeholders. This position will work directly with the Program Specialist to support the programs technical implementation and positioning for future awards.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary day to day depending on the program’s needs. Some example responsibilities include the following:

  • Support Program Specialist in technical meetings with local field team, local partners, and donors.
  • Lead weekly check ins with local team to ensure technical completion of all activities.
  • Assists with the review and production of all program deliverables including research, Quarterly Reports, annual reports, and self-assessment reports.
  • Supports the Program Support Unit in ensuring subgrantee expenses and cost share is reported on time and matches with technical implementation.
  • Attend related events and webinars to stay up to date on funding trends and priorities for DR and Caribbean.
  • Supports all administrative and logistical components of the program.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences; Master’s degree in project management or related to international development preferred.
  • A minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience and expertise in project management of international development projects, preferably in the LAC region, with an emphasis on finance or grants.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, pro-active, ability to work independently on tasks.
