Functional responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the position supports the work of UNCCT, part of UNOCT and promotes the delivery of United Nations capacity building assistance to Member States relating to PCVE. The Intern will support effective implementation of the UNCCT Global PCVE Programme.    

Specific intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support with timely and high-quality reporting on projects, including compiling post-activity reports, creating presentations proposals, analyzing surveys, drafting briefing and background notes as well as project activity summaries and updates;
  • Support in conducting research and prepare drafts of concept notes, proposals, and to assist in resource mobilization documentation for the PCVE programme;
  • Provide support for capacity building workshops, critical meetings, conferences, seminars for UNCCT PVE- focused issues; and
  • Provide supporttoother areas of the Global PCVEProgrammeas required.

Under the supervision of the Project Manager and in coordination with the Programme Management Officer, the intern will be responsible for:

  • Satisfactory delivery of project-related tasks within predetermined deadlines;
  • Meet projected outputs as outlined by the supervisor;
  • Regular meetings with supervisor to ensure timely completion of assignments.

Participation in missions or training courses

In addition to accessing UNOPS online training courses and tools, the Intern is encouraged to attend andparticipate at learning events organized by UNOPS, UNOCT and other UN agencies.

Mandatory training for all UNOPS personnel on the UN system and access to a learning platform includes a broad variety of courses in different subjects such as human rights, security, cybersecurity,gender mainstreaming, prevention of sexual harassment and others (certificates included).



Education/Experience/Language requirements

Academic qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university programme such as Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. (or the equivalent)or have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to the application date of theinternship.



Language Skills

  • Fluency in English (write, read, talk) is required.
  • Fluency in other UN languages especially French and Arabic is desirable.


Computer Literacy

  • Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/ or Google Suite is an asset.

Internship-related experiences

  • Introductory experience in project research, coordination, management, support or administration is desired.
Additional requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; attention to detail; and determination to meetdeadlines are an asset.
  • Familiarity with the work of the United nations Organization, its mandate, main areas of focus,United Nations Bodies, etc. is an asset.
