Democracy International (DI) is seeking a Program Management Consultant for its Department of State-funded activity in the Gambia to support the transitional justice process. The goal of this project is to enhance capability and support for transitional justice that reflects the vision of the Government of The Gambia as defined in its Implementation Plan to ensure accountability of crimes, institute reparations, strengthen civil society, and build national capacity and expertise.
DI is seeking a Program Management Consultant to be embedded within the Ministry of Justice to provide program management and legal expertise. Specifically, the Program Management Consultant would support the Post-TRRC Unit (PTU), which is the central coordinating body in charge of executing the transitional justice implementation plan and acts as the Secretariat to the Steering Committee on the Implementation of the TRRC Recommendations, and other coordination and feedback mechanisms. It is headed by the Special Adviser to the Minister of Justice on Transitional Justice, with whom the Program Management Consultant would work closely.
This is expected to be a full-time consultancy, with an initial period of performance of six months, subject to extension based on need and performance. This role is only open to Gambian citizens or those that have a resident permit for The Gambia.
