Duties and Responsibilities
This internship is located in the Project Management Office (PMO) of the United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT). OICT enables a better, safer, more sustainable future through innovative technology. The Office is responsible for defining strategic direction for ICT in the Secretariat. It provides oversight of ICT programmes, systems, applications and decision-making and is committed to ensuring colleagues all over the world have the necessary ICT tools to succeed in their respective mandates.
The PMO aims to strengthen the successful delivery of ICT initiatives across the Organization by providing a centralized, one-stop shop for project management oversight, governance, standardization, methodologies, best practices, training, tools, and templates. The OICT PMO enables consistent and effective project implementation globally, promoting compliance, transparency, and best practices at all levels of the Organization.
OFFICE DUTIES:
The intern will support the OICT PMO team in monitoring project management compliance and providing support to the project management tool replacement project. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.

Visa and Work Authorization Mandatory Requirements:
For internships in the United States of America, persons who are not United States citizens, permanent residents or on another non-immigrant (such as F1 or J1 visa) status, will be required to obtain a G4 visa. The selected person will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and approved employment authorization (CPT/OPT/AT), allowing them to undertake the internship.

Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
