Project Summary:

MSI’s Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and US Region has a vast portfolio of projects covering a wide range of topics in Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, and US based projects global in scope. The expected USAID democracy and governance program in Haiti is a five-year project working in targeted neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It will be implemented through a suite of interventions under each component that include technical assistance, training, small-scale rehabilitation, small NGO-type grants awarded through a USAID-approved grants under contract (GUC) mechanism, and in-kind grants to community groups and NGOs, and to GoH institutions identified by USAID.

Position Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for managing administrative, contractual, financial, and logistical aspects of the project. The PM will report to the Senior Project Manager (SPM). This role may require occasional travel to support the field offices. The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Headquarters project management support on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the project team.
  • Provide remote support with the development, implementation, or closeout of grants as needed.
  • Coordinate contractual and financial matters for the project.
  • Manage project finances, approval requirements, track incoming costs, project future expenditures and preparation of financial reports, including the preparation of incremental budget pipeline planning and funding requests for USAID.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of short-term technical consultants and host country employees.
  • Provide logistical support for expat travelers, in collaboration with the MSI Headquarters travel team.
  • Coordinate logistics for onboarding field project office employees.
  • Participate in the formatting and editing of deliverables, ensuring USAID branding and high-quality visuals are incorporated, in line with the project branding and marking implementation plan.
  • Work closely with MSI project team including the Technical Manager/Director and Senior Project Manager on reviewing contract deliverables, including ad hoc assessment and evaluation reports, and quarterly and annual reports as required by the contract and agreed to with USAID.
  • Track and ensure on-time client deliverable requirements.
  • Provide support in the review of field expense reports and backup documentation.
  • Manage and organize project files, including coordinating with field office filing.
  • Support logistics and planning for periodic program rolling assessments, including travel for U.S. and field-based staff, lodging, and meeting logistics.
  • Support the team in the development of procedures, policies, recordkeeping, and other duties, as required and related to overall operations the project(s).
  • Provide in-person surge support to the field team for field coverage, staff training, program ramp ups, or closeout tasks as needed.
  • Complete other backstopping tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in international development, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience required.
  • Familiarity with FAR and USAID regulations strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to travel for short periods preferred.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relationships with clients and colleague required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.
  • Fluency in English required. Working proficiency in French or Spanish is preferred.

Pay Transparency Statement:

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant and equitable approach to employment compensation. We commit to providing a holistic comprehensive salary analysis, including reviews of individual skill sets and compensable factors related to qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys. The anticipated pay range for this position is $62,000 to $69,000 USD.
