Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global authority on environmental matters, responsible for setting the global environmental agenda and promoting coherent environmental action across the UN system. This internship is located at the Headquarters of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm (BRS) Conventions in Geneva. The BRS Secretariat oversees three key multilateral environmental agreements that aim to protect human health and the environment from hazardous chemicals and wastes.
The selected intern will be placed within the Public Awareness and Outreach Unit in the Executive Office of the BRS Secretariat. Under the direct supervision of the Public Information Officer, the intern will:

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. All costs related to travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the internship country may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work authorization.
