Duties and Responsibilities
This position is located in the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Mexico City, within the Information Centres Service (ICS) of the Department of Global Communications (DGC). The UNIC is part of the global network of United Nations Information Centres (UNICs) and UNIC Mexico City is the principal source of information about the United Nations system in Mexico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.
It is responsible for promoting public understanding and support for the aims and activities of the United Nations by:
In addition, UNICs lead the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) and Resident Coordination Office (RCO) communications and advocacy functions.
The incumbent is under the direct supervision of UNIC’s Director and/or the National Information Officer (NIO). The internship is UNPAID and in-person. The intern must cover full-time working hours, for up to a maximum of 6 months - 35 hours per week.
With limits of delegated authority, the intern will be responsible for one or more of the following duties:

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Languages
English and Spanish are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written Spanish is required. Fluency in English is desirable.
