The Reporting Unit of the International Committee of the Red Cross’s External Resources Division, tasked with the main responsibility of reporting to donors, is currently hiring Reporting Officer/s.
The Reporting Officer is responsible for producing various standard documents to keep ICRC donors fully informed about ICRC activities worldwide and to encourage their continued support for the organization. These documents include the ICRC’s financial appeals, annual reports and midterm reports, ad hoc updates on ICRC programmes in specific countries or regions, and papers explaining ICRC policies.
The position entails writing, editing/revising and proofreading existing reports. To ensure the successful fulfilment of tasks, the Reporting Officer will undergo a fully-paid 1-year training program, which will include a visit to the ICRC Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
Selection requirements
· University degree, preferably in social or political science, history, law, literature, journalism, or communication
· Proven English-language writing skills; previous experience in journalism/ report-writing/ translation desirable
· Working knowledge of other languages an asset, particularly French and Spanish
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel features (templates, styles, revision tools, etc.)
