Job Description

Corus International is seeking applications for a research co-lead to support an anticipated 3-year, $1.2 million dollar youth development intervention and research project in Indonesia.

The project objectives are to 1) examine how different models of youth engagement contribute to the development of prosocial behavior in youth and 2) test adaptations of existing tools and practices to support youth development, including digital vs. in-person modes of intervention delivery in shaping youth outcomes.

Based in Indonesia, the Research Co-Lead will provide overall technical leadership, strategic support and operational oversight for the project.

Duties:

  • Provide technical leadership for project related activities including:
  • Lead data collection and analysis
  • Lead technical document development, including research protocols, study instruments, project reports and peer-reviewed journal manuscripts
  • Advise on innovative approaches for scale up of successful intervention activities/components in the region and beyond.
  • Provide regular reports to the Corus-based Co-PI and programmatic and technical personnel, including successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Work closely with partners to plan activities, including coordinating submission of any research protocols to an accredited, Indonesia-based Institutional Review Board

Qualifications:

  • PhD in developmental psychology, social psychology, applied psychology or related field.
  • At least 7 years of senior-level experience leading/serving as Principal Investigator for applied evaluation and research studies in community or school-based settings in Indonesia.
  • Advanced quantitative data analysis skills, including use of quantitative analysis software (Stata preferred)
  • Mid-level to advance qualitative data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Documented peer-reviewed publication record in developmental psychology, adolescent health or related field
  • Documented success in obtaining external grant/research funding from national and/or international donors/funders.
  • Experience with positive youth development intervention design
  • Demonstrated ability to work in concert with team, partner organizations, and other key stakeholders to achieve results
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including in making presentations)
  • Strong interpersonal, team management, leadership, and decision-making skills, including the ability to communicate across cultures effectively and respectfully.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesian required.
  • Ability to work across time zones
