Assignment Title: Researcher, Covid-19

Department/Location: Global Health Education & Econoics Practice (GHEE)

Category: Proposal (This position is contingent upon award.)

Overview: IBTCI seeks research methodologists to participate in a two-year evaluation for USAID about global Covid-19 response and field implementation. This would be a member of a team and conduct an extensive amount of document review and interviews with implementers, including NGOs and UN organizations. The position would require analysis of data and writing, ability to work remotely.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support the evaluation team in meeting written deliverables.

  • Conduct desk research on topics related to food assistance, health, climate change, gender, humanitarian principles, etc, particularly in regard to mitigating Covid-19.

  • Gathering evaluation documentation and conducting desktop review and key interviews with stakeholders in over 20 countries.

  • Drafting key sections about in-depth issues in reports the team’s evaluations products

  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients

  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Publication track record desired, including Covid-19.
  • Ability to travel overseas
  • 5 years’ experience assisting multilateral donor projects and teams
  • French and English language skills desired

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Global Affairs, International Development or Monitoring and Evaluation related fields is required. Master’s degree in preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Support the evaluation team in meeting written deliverables.

  • Knowledge of food assistance and emergency assistance programs is required.

  • Research experience Data analyses and evaluation methods with USAID protocols.

  • Presentation skills

  • Formatting reports and other documents

Working Environment: Remote work is expected

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile or conflict prone zones.
