    Position Location: Remote or on-site in Southeast Asia (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste or Vietnam)

    SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
    The Southeast Asia Gender Based Violence Prevention Platform (“the Platform”) is a regionally led, Australian-funded initiative that aims to address the need and demand for increased investment in, and coordination of, gender-based violence (GBV) primary prevention initiatives in the Southeast Asia region.​ The Platform aims to strengthen locally-led efforts to prevent GBV through evidence-based advocacy, dialogue, policy and programming in Southeast Asia. The Platform is led by a regionally based Secretariat, in collaboration with Cowater International, Social Development Direct and the Equality Institute, which support organisational development and provide technical support.

    The Platform offers competitive grants to Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Women’s Rights Organisations (WROs) in Southeast Asia. The grants are offered in several cycles throughout the duration of the program, with a value range of AUD20,000-150,000. The aim is to help achieve the following End of Program Outcomes under the Platform’s three work Pillars:
    Demonstrate Pillar: Evidence of what works to prevent GBV in Southeast Asia is accessible and applied by practitioners and policymakers in the region.
    • Advocate Pillar: Regional and bilateral multi-stakeholder collaboration on and commitment to GBV prevention are expanded.
    • Facilitate Pillar: Practitioners and policymakers have better capacity to design, implement and monitor high-quality, evidence-based GBV prevention policies and programmes.The Platform provides technical assistance (TA) to qualified grantees to support effective project delivery and strengthen grantees’ organisational capacity.

      SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
      The Platform seeks regionally based service providers to be part of its Expert Panel to deliver TA to the grantees, support the Secretariat in managing the grants, and to provide wider technical support to the Pillars in the different areas of expertise.
