Security Coordinator

Job Description

Sheliadia is actively seeking a Security Coordinator for a Construction Supervision Project in Afghanistan. The international Security Coordinator should have an extensive background and experience in the security field.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Detailed tasks include:

• Assist the Government, the EA and the Contractor to prepare the Project Security Plan
• Review of the Project Security Plans submitted by the Contactors and coordination of final approval by the EA and ADB
• Ongoing consultation and coordination of the implementation of the Project Security Plan with the Ministry of Interior, the EA and the Contractor
• Supervision of implementation of the Project Security Plan including reporting
• Preparation of the Consultant Security Plan and supervision of its implementation

The minimum requirements for this position are:

• Must have 10 years of government, military, and/or police service, or equivalent private sector security-related experience
• Experience in establishing security policies and procedures relating to police/military and/or investigation agencies and good knowledge of the UN Security Management System
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the functions of multilateral donor organizations and their field operations
• Area knowledge and experience in Afghanistan
• Demonstrated experience in crisis management and operating in difficult circumstances and conditions
• Strong written and verbal briefing and reporting skills including an excellent command of written and spoken English
• Demonstrated experience in operating in a multicultural environment
