Job Description

Chemonics seeks a Senior Associate, Small Business to join the Strategy Division. The senior associate is responsible for supporting and assisting the USG Business Line Strategy Division in the operations of the Small Business Liaison Office (SBLO). The senior associate will assist with day-to-day requests for assistance and information from projects and support units. The associate will also work closely with the Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO) to support and manage Chemonics’ formal corporate program to support small businesses (SBs). Activities will range from routine administrative tasks to coordination, research, analysis, communications and training support, to ensure smooth daily operations. The senior associate may also carry out special tasks and projects. This role requires on-site work in our Washington, DC office location as part of our hybrid, flexible work structure.   • Contributes to implementation of an effective small business compliance program that meets regulatory requirements through research and review, updates to guidance documents, and dissemination of information to projects, proposal teams, and support units as required.
  • Responds to requests for assistance, information, and interpretation of small business utilization from projects, proposal teams, and support units. This includes reviewing RFPs and identifying relevant small business partners.
  • Assists with reviews of individual subcontracting reports (ISRs) and SF 294s, completes entry in the electronic subcontracting reporting system (eSRS), conducts analysis of project ISR performance and assists with reports to cost editors, and updates internal reporting trackers.
  • Coordinates logistics and assists in organizing small business events, e.g., Chemonics Partners Fair, as directed by the SBLO. This may include developing the agenda, drafting, and reviewing the material provided to small businesses, researching and identifying small businesses to invite, tracking responses, reserving rooms, and corresponding with relevant internal clients.
  • Responds to and maintains contact with small businesses by monitoring the Partners’ email inbox, identifying potential small businesses, scheduling and attending introductory meetings, taking notes, and updating and maintaining small businesses in SharePoint and CRM.
  • Conducts quality reviews and posts advertisements on small business specific websites for opportunities available on proposals or projects, as requested by proposal or project teams.
  • Represents Chemonics at outreach events, such as conferences and matchmaking events, communicating information on Chemonics priorities and ways to partner with Chemonics in a professional and concise manner, demonstrating a solid understanding of Chemonics’ business development processes. Also attends relevant conference presentations and draft notes to disseminate to practice and new business teams.
  • Assists with all aspects of training including updating and development of materials, co-facilitation and training, and capacity-building as required.
  • Ensures all current templates, policies, and procedures are maintained and available in SharePoint, the GQMS and other resources.
  • Continually identifies and proposes more efficient, compliant, and customer-friendly ways to manage unit activities and serve clients and implements process improvements in consultation with the SBLO.
  • Takes on increasingly challenging new business roles on proposal teams.
  • Maintains and expands professional and technical knowledge participating in internal and external training events, networks, and societies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in relevant field required.
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience with ability to handle routine tasks and operational issues required.
  • Educational or work experience in a business, regulatory or legal field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results.
  • Sensitivity to diverse audiences and demonstrated good judgment about messaging.
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time and competing priorities.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving, and initiative to learn new skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications required. Knowledge of Dynamics365 preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
  • Fluent English required, proficiency in a foreign language preferred.

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $55,760 - $69,700.

An employee’s pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.

Overtime exemption status may change due to state regulatory requirements.
