The Role

Prospera is seeking a Senior Government and Partnerships Advisor to lead a team focused on ensuring the effective contribution of Australian Government departments and agencies (hereafter Australian agencies) in achieving Prospera’s goal of fostering strong, sustainable and inclusive growth in Indonesia.

The Senior Government and Partnerships Advisor supports Australian agency members to actively contribute to Prospera’s long-term outcomes across the project’s breakthrough areas. The Advisor will take a strategic view on harnessing opportunities that promote Australian agency effectiveness and partnerships with their counterparts in Indonesia and collaborate across Australian agencies and the Prospera advisory teams. The Advisor will work closely with staff of the Australian embassy, and manage a small team, including administrative and finance staff, to support Australian agency activities.

Program Background

Prospera is a partnership facility between the Government of Australia (through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Government of Indonesia. It aims to foster strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. Commencing from 1 March 2018, Prospera is a planned five-year investment that will complete in February 2026.

About You

The candidate will possess strong qualifications and experience as follows:

  • Master’s degree in areas such as Economics, Social Science, Public Administration and/or relevant experience of at least 15 years in government/private sector partnerships across governments. Australian Public Service experience is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of public policy issues and, ideally, experience in development policy so as to provide professional support to Australian government officials, senior Indonesian government officials and to engage with other development partners.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills to ensure activities remain on track and that collaborative initiatives progress smoothly. This also requires strong interpersonal skills to help in fostering collaboration and building consensus among stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of internal governance and decision-making arrangements in the Indonesian and Australian governments and translating these into operational decisions.
  • Excellent skills in communication and writing skills as well as networking and relationship skills. An understanding of Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management experience, including experience in developing and delivering external events and tailored guidance.

Remuneration

The remuneration will be set according to Adviser Remuneration Framework Group C, Job Level 4. This position open for International and National Indonesian. The remuneration level at which the position is engaged will be based on the successful candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
