We are looking for a Senior Hydrologist and a Senior Agricultural Water Expert for an upcoming opportunity in the Sultanate of Oman.

1) SENIOR HYDROLOGIST (Ref. SOW001A)

Duties and responsibilities:

The senior Hydrologist shall play a lead role in the estimation of surface water components, particularly evaporation and evapotranspiration, rainfall and wadi flow assessment.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years experience in the water sector, with specific experience in surface water components estimation.
• At least 5 years experience in water systems in the arid zone.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in water engineering, water resources and water management.
• Excellent English communication (oral and writing) and reporting skills.
• Experience in arid regions possibly in Oman is preferable.

2) SENIOR AGRICULTURAL WATER EXPERT (Ref. SOW001B)

Duties and responsibilities:

The senior agricultural water expert shall play a lead role in the assessment of water resources use in agriculture, particular assessments of agricultural crop water use.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years experience in the agricultural water demand and management sector, with specific experience in irrigation demand and use estimations related to crop types, source of water.
• At least 5 years experience in agricultural water management in arid zone.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in engineering, agriculture and irrigation.
• Excellent English communication (oral and writing) and reporting skills.
• Experience in arid regions possibly also especially in Oman is preferable.
