Job Description

Duties
  • Serves as GH’s lead technical expert on inclusive development and implementation of the USAID 5P Framework related to health programs, including increasing support for local (indigenous) partner organizations and government-to-government engagement.
  • Responsible for the direction and guidance in support of Agency programs and operations to efficiently achieve specified GH goals and objectives including those embedded within the Agency’s 5P Framework.
  • Advises and provides technical guidance to senior staff on DEIA issues to achieve GH program goals and objectives.
  • Serves on interagency, national, and/or international special work groups, task forces, or expert panels on special projects or studies critical to the resolution of far-reaching operating issues and problems.
  • Provides administrative support and oversight necessary for accomplishing the work of the DEIA team in GH.
  • Works across GH to systematically capture, synthesize, and share evidence related to inclusive development and DEIA related efforts in a global health setting.
Requirements Conditions of Employment

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

  • If you have no prior Federal experience or are selected under Delegated Examining procedures, you will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
GS-15: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis which includes: a) Experience in designing and/or managing development assistance programs in global health, including experience with at least one of the following: HIV/AIDS, family planning/reproductive health, maternal and child health, nutrition, infectious diseases, environmental health or health systems strengthening and/or other health programs; b ) Leadership/technical expertise in global health in the areas related to inclusive development and health equity; c) Leadership in workforce/talent management efforts, including leading DEIA programs, practices, and procedures; AND d) Technical leadership in global health programs related to strategic planning, change management, and implementation processes to include relating objectives, goals, and initiatives to identified strategies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position’s duties to be filled, including volunteer experience.
