Senior Public Policy Advisor – Georgia

East West Management Institute seeks a Senior Public Policy Advisor for its USAID-funded Advocacy, Policy, Advocacy, and Civil Society Development (G-PAC), program in Georgia. G-PAC is a four year program that works to strengthen civil society’s role in advocating for and influencing the development and effective implementation of public policy reforms in Georgia. G-PAC works to achieve this goal through a combination of grant-making, information sharing and demand-driven capacity building of civil society organizations and by creating a pilot Master in Public Administration (MPA) program. The Senior Public Policy Advisor will report to the Chief of Party and will primarily be responsible for working with G-PAC MPA partner SIPA/Columbia University to assist the Ilia State University in Tbilisi in establishing the MPA program; advise think tanks on research and policy projects; review research and advocacy grant applications; and oversee internship and university assistance grants programs. The position requires travel outside Tbilisi. This is a long-term position based in Tbilisi, Georgia, that offers a generous benefits package.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Advanced degree in social sciences, political science, education management, or other related field;
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience in working for graduate academic programs and/or for international development programs focusing on higher education and/or support for public policy reform;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player;
• A self-starter, very well organized, and good office skills;
• Excellent oral and written English language skills.
