Who are we and what will you be a part of?

DRC Danish Refugee Council organizes voluntary integration work throughout Denmark, where more than 5,500 volunteers are responsible for activities that will give refugees and people with ethnic minority backgrounds the opportunity to take an active part in Danish society through access to networks, language and advice. The student will, together with a Regional Consultant, be responsible for the coordination of two everyday advice services in Aarhus Municipality, which are run by 42 fantastic volunteers who help citizens with practical and digital challenges in everyday life. This can include, among other things, understanding letters from the municipality and other authorities and help with using MitID, E-boks and other digital solutions.

Your tasks

As the student assistant, you will be the coordinator for the volunteer everyday counselors at two locations in Aarhus C, and support the volunteer everyday counselors so that they can best carry out their task for the benefit of refugees and citizens with an ethnic minority background. Tasks carried out involve the coordinator:

• Coordinates shift schedules
• Recruiting volunteers
• Visits the activities and ensures good dialogue with the volunteers
• Supports the work of volunteers with practical information and sparring
• Maintains collaboration with relevant municipal partners
• Contributes to a positive and appreciative community around the advice services

Your profile

All employees at DRC Danish Refugee Council must possess our 5 core competencies, which are: Quality, Cooperation, Shared Responsibility, Communication and Integrity. We also expect you to be passionate about social work and the involvement of civil society in relation to the integration of refugees and to be good at motivating other people. We are looking for you who are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or at the beginning of a master’s degree and:

• Have experience with volunteer work – either as a volunteer or as an employee
• Is independent, structured and good at building relationships
• Meets others with appreciation and is comfortable collaborating with people from different backgrounds
• Finds job satisfaction in solving low-level practical tasks that make a big difference

Accession and terms

The student job is 10 hours/week. We expect to hold interviews on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Joining is as soon as possible thereafter. The position is limited in time to December 31, 2026. You will be part of a small local office community at Olof Palmes Allé 35, 8200 Aarhus N.

We offer training in volunteer coordination, volunteer management and interdisciplinary cooperation.
