Position Overview:
Chemonics’ Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) Practice advances technical excellence and development impact by integrating gender equality and social inclusion considerations into proposals and projects. The practice works to ensure projects are designed and managed to promote 1) integration of gender equality activities, 2) women’s empowerment, 3) social inclusion, 4) positive youth development 5) LGBTQI+ inclusive development, 6) disability- inclusive development and 7) addressing gender-based violence and safeguarding. As a team, we provide our 70+ projects with support including conducting and reviewing contractual deliverables such as project gender assessments, gender action plans and gender equality and social inclusion strategies; supporting the integration of gender and social inclusion issues into proposal and technical approaches; mentoring and leading staff trainings on topics such as gender mainstreaming and inclusion activities; conducting GESI practice outreach and communication activities.
The GESI Data Management and Analysis Summer Intern will be an integral member of the PMT and support the PMT over a period of 10 weeks, 40 hours per week and conduct critical database management, overhaul, and integration activities of Chemonics’ project data on successes, achievements, and results. The internship will take a dual-pronged approach focused on both the intern supporting the GESI PMT to achieve key goals, as well as providing the intern with exciting professional development opportunities that strengthen capacity to understand and apply inclusive development approaches. Below, we describe an initial outline for the activities envisioned for the internship. The GESI Data Management and Analysis Intern will also gain an understanding of the international development field and Chemonics’ technical areas through professional development opportunities and attending corporate trainings as well as external events.
